I-1.3—To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child.
I believe that this ideal fosters individuality and a commitment to helping children as they reach their optimal level of development because; each child develops and learns in a unique manner.
I-2.4—To listen to families, acknowledge and build upon their strengths and competencies, and learn from families as we support them in their task of nurturing children.
In order to fully understand the personality and abilities of a child, I find it necessary to forge a lasting relationship of trust and commitment with the families that we service. This relationship will foster a collaborative partnership with the families and allow us to build the trust required to care for children.
I-3A.2—To share resources with co-workers, collaborating to ensure that the best possible early childhood care and education program is provided.
It is my belief that in order to have a quality early childhood program that meets NAEYC (2005) standards and ideas; early childhood professionals must support each other through networking and sharing. These collaborative opportunities with co-workers build a certain level of trust and respect while enhancing the lives of the children and families that are serviced through early childhood programs.
